Three killed in road accidents

A bike rider and his friend were crushed to death by a Bolero and an elderly man came under the wheels of a truck in separate road accidents in Chhattisgarh's Janjgir-Champa district on Saturday, police said.

The Bolero hit the bike on which Sagar Basod (22) and friend Prakash Kumhar (20) were travelling towards Baloda village to buy fish, Janjgir-Champa Superintendent of Police Prashant Kumar Thakur said.

Kumhar died instantly and Basod was declared dead by doctors. In another accident, an elderly man was run over by a speeding truck when he was jogging early on Saturday near Budgahan village, the officer said.

The victim was identified as Harihar Das (75).
