Cyber cell Bhopal arrested three members of an interstate gang involved in duping job seekers in the name of facilitating jobs with Mahindra Company Dilshad Garden Police Station, Seemapuri New Delhi; over 150 victims over half a dozen states were duped to the tune of over Rs 12 lakh.
Police said that call center was operated from flat to evade attracting attention and used to target victims using data bought from QUICKER for calling and used bank accounts opened online. The nabbed gang members were identified as Raghunandan, Firoz Khan and Deepak Mandal of New Delhi.
Revealing the modus operandi gang used to collect money in the name of security amount, dress and other goods, courier service, custom charge of parcel, insurance, training, GST etc. in the name of getting job in Mahindra company by taking data from QUICKER.Used to get it deposited in the account opened online. The accused used to withdraw the fraud amount from ATM and by transfer to Paytm, accused Raghunandan used to work as a caller at another call center before the month of July, where he learned the work and started his fraud call center. Raghunandan used to buy online data from Quikr and provide it to his friends Firoz Khan and Deepak for calling, on the basis of which callers used to cheat people by calling.
The action was taken after complaint was made by the applicant that on November 13 from mobile number 8750491544, 9311051738, 9311086436, 7042270287, 9990837054, 7042515971 and bank account number a total of Rs 85,009 were cheated in the name of getting a job by the user of 9145342587 IFSC Code KKBK0004628.
