Tourist Police launched

With a view to provide security to tourists, Police in Chhattisgarh's Gariaband district on Saturday launched a Tourist Police from Jatmai Dham here.

Jatmai Dham is dedicated to the temple of Goddess Jatmai, 85 km away from Raipur. 

Gariaband Superintendent of Police Parul Mathur formally launched the new force comprising 28 police personnel for four spots: Ghatarani, Jatmai, Rajiv Lochan temple and the Chingrapagar waterfall.

Seven policemen and policewomen in yellow T-Shirts will each be posted on Saturdays and Sundays at these places to prevent untoward incidents.

Padmashri Award winner Phoolbasan Bai Yadav attended the launch. Gariband district is located 90 km from Raipur.
