A former ward member had a lucky escape when a tree stopped his car from falling further down the road during an accident. The former Krishnapur ward member in Nainital, Deep Narayan Bisht was travelling in a Santro car when trying to dodge another car, it fell about 150 feet down the hillside off the road.
The car was brought to a stop by a tree which saved the former ward members life. The locals informed the police who reached the site. The police with the help of locals, extracted Bisht from the damaged car held by the tree. According to the police, Bisht had not sustained any major injuries. He was sent to the BD Pande hospital for medical attention.
