As Indian Railways notified Kalka Express.- the oldest train service in Indian railway network as Netaji express to mark his125th anniversary, people from different walks of life paid tributes to him at Gomoh and Katras Junctions here.
Gomoh junction that already has been named after Netaji, was the last place where he was seen alive in India before world came to know about his great escape. He had boarded Howrah - Kalka Mail, which back then used to run till Peshawar.
Portrait of Netaji installed at Gomoh junction was garlanded and even commoners were allowed to pay tributes to the legendary leader .
A separate function was arranged at Katras station where people cutting across political affiliations paid tributes to Netaji. Former BIADA chairman Bijay Jha chaired this function.
District Congress party arranged a separate function at Katras led by district president BP Singh where tributes were paid to Netaji.
Meanwhile, Damodar Valley Corporation, Bokaro Thermal Power Station, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Udyan and Bokaro Thermal observed ‘Parakram Diwas’ on the day.
