In a tragic incident in Jaunpur, a driver and cleaner of a truck were burnt alive after their vehicle caught fire soon after colliding with a dumper late on Wednesday night. The dumper driver was also critically injured and shifted to a hospital.
As per reports, a speeding truck collided head-on with a dumper near Fatehganj market under Baxa police station area on Jaunpur- Prayagraj highway in the night after which, the truck caught fire and the driver and cleaner were trapped inside the cabin, and were roasted alive before they could be rescued. The dumper was loaded with soil and was headed to Jaunpur from Machhlishahr.
While the dumper driver was critically injured, truck driver Deep Narain(27) of Deoria  and cleaner Jitendra Chauhan (26) of Maharajganj died on the spot. After the accident, the highway was blocked for over three hours and traffic movement was restored only after the fire brigade doused the fire. A case was registered in this regard and the bodies were shifted for autopsy.
Meanwhile in an inhuman act, some policemen forced a man to carry the body of his eight-year-old son, who died in a road mishap, on a motorcycle to complete the postmortem formalities in Sitapur. The video of the insensitive act of the cops went viral on Thursday after which senior officers reacted and shunted out the police outpost incharge and suspended a police constable. A joint probe was also ordered under ADM and an Additional SP.
As per reports, Ankur of Deoria hamlet of Talgaon was hit by an unidentified vehicle in Kasrailia locality on Tuesday afternoon. He was admitted to District Hospital by somecops, where he succumbed to his injuries. On Wednesday, the body was to be shifted from the hospital to the mortuary, situated 7 kilometres away, for carrying out the autopsy. The victim’s father pleaded with an ambulance driver to take the body but since he was in an inebriated state, he refused and asked the father to take the body on his own. The local police too refused to extend any help and forced the father to put the dead body on a motorcycle and reach the mortuary. After a video featuring the insensitive act of the ambulance driver and the police went viral on Thursday, senior officers took cognizance and on their initiative, the ambulance driver was sacked from his job while the beat constable was placed under suspension. The in-charge of District Hospital police outpost was sent to lines. Further action will be taken against him after a  probe is completed.
