Twenty-four persons including two children were detected Covid-19 positive in the premises of a Rajnandgaon based private school in Chhattisgarh, a senior official said on Thursday.
All 24 live in the staff quarters of Yugantar Public School and were found Covid positive, said Dr Mithlesh Choudhary, Chief Medical Health Officer (CMHO) of Rajnandgaon.
He said the school has not started functioning though the state government has allowed schools to begin offline classes.
One person was found Covid positive on Tuesday, 11 persons were found positive on Wednesday and 12 on Thursday 12, he said.
According to the Chhattisgarh Health Department, 311 fresh Covid positive patients were detected across Chhattisgarh on February 17.
A total of 3.09 lakh Covid positive patients have so far been detected in the state, of which 3.03 patients have recovered.
Currently there are 3,009 active patients in the state where 3,788 people have succumbed to the virus.
