With the arrest of two persons, Chhattisgarh Police on Sunday claimed to solved the murder of a 30-year-old woman in a village in Surguja district in May last year.
Sushma Paikra was suffocated to death inside her house in Lundra village.
Surguja Superintendent of Police Amit Kamble identified the arrested men as Amit Singh and his aide Dinesh Bhuihar, both from Lundra village in the district.
Police detained Bhuihar after he began using the mobile phone of the dead woman.
He told police that Singh and Paikra had illicit relations and Singh gave Rs 1 lakh to him after killing Paikra.
On the night of May 31, 2020, Bhuihar entered Paikra’s house and suffocated her with a pillow. After Bhuihar’s confession, police nabbed Singh.
