Two Naxalites nabbed in Bijapur

Two Naxalites involved in murder, abduction and other incidents were on Thursday arrested in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district.

Bijapur Superintendent of Police Kamlochan Kashyap identified them as Militia Section Commander Oyam Joga (40) and Militia Commander Punem Deva alias Rama.

They were caught from the jungles of Rengampara village by a joint team of District Police, Special Task Force and Central Reserve Police Force.

Punem carried a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head. He was involved in several Naxalite incidents between 2016 and 2020.

Five arrest warrants were pending against Punem and four against Joga.
