At least four people, including two women, were killed and 11 others injured when a bus rammed into a stationary mini-truck on National Highway-2 at Chhalesar flyover of Etmadpur police station area in Agra on Thursday morning.
As per reports, a UP Roadways bus was headed to Agra bus station from Kanpur as as it neared the Chhalesar flyover around 4:30 am, the driver lost control as a result of which the bus climbed onto a road divider after ramming into a mini truck parked by the roadside. The mini truck, loaded with watermelons, had developed a technical snag late in the night and was parked on one side of the flyover when the mishap occurred.
Four of the bus passengers identified as Mani (60), Resham (65) and Mandleshwar (28) and Narendra Singh Chauhan (52) died due to the impact of the collision while 11 injured were undergoing treatment at the Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences on the death of passengers in the accident and directed district officials to provide the best of medical treatment to the injured people.
