U’khand Budget Session starts today at Bharadisain

The budget session of Uttarakhand assembly would start at Bharadisain, Gairsain on Monday. The ten day session would commence with the address of the Governor Baby Rani Maurya. On March 4, the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat who also holds the finance portfolio would present a budget for the financial year 2021-22 in the assembly.

Incidentally this would be the first budget of the Uttarakhand government in the summer capital of Uttarakhand. The CM Rawat announced his government’s intention to grant the status of summer capital to Gairsain in Chamoli district on March 4, 2020. After the consent of the Governor the official notification of the summer capital status was done in June 2020.

This year the budget is expected to be to the tune of Rs 56900 Crores. On Sunday the CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, , Cabinet ministers Satpal Maharaj, Madan Kaushik, Harak Singh Rawat and Arivid Pandey arrived in Bharadisain.  The meeting of the business advisory committee headed by Deputy speaker Raghunath Singh Chauhan was held in Bharadisain on Sunday.

In the meeting the agenda of the first day and the address of the Governor were discussed. Cabinet minister Madan Kaushik, leader of opposition Indira Hridayesh, Govind Singh Kunjwal and Khajan Das were also present in this meeting.

Later the meetings of the BJP and Congress legislature parties were organised in which the party leaders discussed their respective strategies for the session. The opposition Congress has decided to target the government on the issues of unemployment, nonpayment of farmers’ dues, price rise and failure of government to tackle the pandemic of Covid-19.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat too reached Bharadisain on Sunday. He took road route from Ranikhet via Dwarahaat to reach Gairsain.
