Udbhav National Journalism Award 2021 function will be held at the late Kashi Nath Charurvedi Memorial Sabhaghar, IITTM Campus, Gwalior on Monday next week on Nov 8. Jyodiraditya Scindia, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India will be the chief guest of the program while Gwalior MP, Vivek Shewalkar and Tejinder Pal Singh, Chairman of the Digiana Media Group will be the guests of honour.
Talking to media persons here on Friday, Keshav Pandey, President, Udbhav Sports and Cultural Association and Secretary, Deepak Tomar said that the awards are given to eminent journalists who have done meritorious work in the field of journalism. They further said that this year the Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to the esteemed journalist Uday Mahurkar. Giving further information, they said that Uday Mahurkar is an Indian journalist, political analyst and author who had been the deputy editor at the India Today group for more than 30 years. In October 2020, he was appointed as the Information Commissioner by the Government of India. They also said that books written by Mahurkar, like Marching with Billion and Centrestage are world famous books.
Giving more details about the awards, Pandey and Tomar said that the state level award in the print media category will be given to Dharmendra Singh Bhadouria of Gwalior while the award in the electronic media category will be given to Sharad Dwivedi of Bhopal. Apart from them, Dev Shrimali of Gwalior, Pramaod Bhardwaj of Bhopal and Ujwal Shukla of Indore too will be felicitated.The press conference was also attended by Kiron Bhadouria, Director, Greenwood Public School, Ex MLA, Ramesh Agarwal, Aditya Bhadouria and Surendra Kushwaha among others.
