The team of Ujjain Lokayukta on Friday caught CMO Shobharam Parmar of Nagari Nagar Parishad of Mandsaur district red-handed taking a bribe of `5000, he was demanding a bribe from the farmer to pay the bill.The farmer had supplied water to the city council through his motor pump during the summer.
The farmer was making rounds to get the bill passed.
The farmer Kanhaiya Lal Dhakad , a resident of Daloda in Mandsaur, had complained to Lokayukta Ujjain on September 15. The city council of the district had issued a tender for water supply through a release on the issue of water in summer.
In March 2021, tender was opened in the name of Shobharam, a letter was given to supply water from tube well every day. The council made an agreement to give Rs 15000 every month in for providing water for 4 hours every day.
The city council made the payment from February to June but the outstanding payment of 15 days of July which was Rs 15000 was stopped and to release a bribe of Rs 5000 was being demanded. After the complaint, Ujjain Lokayukta has arrested the CMO of Nagari Nagar Parishad, Shobharam Parmar, red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 5000.
In another case the Panchayat coordinating officer of Garoth district was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta team while taking a bribe of Rs 5000.
The applicant Dinesh Kumar Meena resident of village Ramnagar Tehsil Garoth district Mandsaur demanded `20,000 by Panchayat Coordinating Officer Omprakash Rathore to end the investigation of false complaint made against him by unknown person, which was on Friday, September 17 at 3.30 pm in the district.
Accepting Rs 5000 as first installment outside Ujjain Lokayukta team, DSP Vedanta Sharma was caught red handed by the team of Inspector TI Balveer Singh Yadav, staff Nitesh Lalawat, Umesh Jatav Sunil Parsai, Neeraj Rathore.
