Under Gamak series, Bhopalites enjoyed classical dance and music on Sunday.
A dance drama in Bharatnatyam style centered on Kalidas under the direction of Shruti Sharma of Indore. It was performed by Kalidas Sanskrit Academy Ujjain. It was broadcasted live on the department’s YouTube channel.
A dance drama was presented with the aim of highlighting the importance of Kalidas and the rich literature of Sanskrit and the contribution of the great poet Kalidas in it. Through the presentation, special topics of Sanskrit language, important place in spiritual world were highlighted.
At the beginning of the programme, the welcome address was given by Santosh Pandya, Director-in-Charge of the Academy.
The programme was announced by Padmaja Raghuvanshi and coordinated by Sandeep Nagar. In the presentation, Kalidas’s initial struggle and the acquisition of knowledge by the blessings of the Goddess, by Ganesha Vandana, with divine blessings, the miraculous effect on Kalidas’s speech and as a result, he was elevated to the position of the great scholar of the Indian classical tradition, Kalidas described the Ritu Chakra in Ritusanhar.
Presented in a unique detailed description of the dance drama. Artists of the organization Priyanshi Jain, Akshara Kacholia, Chinmayi Kolvadkar, Anagha Palia, Sara Kashikar, Anika Palia, Mrityunjay Joshi participated in the presentation. The dance drama was written by Sharvani Joshi.
