Union Rural Development Secretary NN Sinha chaired a review meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners and Rural Development Officers of the State through video conferencing on Saturday.

The Union Secretary clearly instructed all the officers that all the houses should be completed in the current financial year only. The Union Secretary also praised the MGNREGA scheme implementation in the State and said that its work is getting better, so all the DCs should expedite the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

The Union Secretary said that the houses, which have not been approved between the financial years 2016 to 21, should be approved by December 2021 in any case.

The Secretary also directed to remove such beneficiaries from the list, who have temporarily migrated from the last one year. In Palamu, Pakur and Garhwa districts, the beneficiaries of the priority list settled in the mining area, by providing them land at another place, directed them to approve the housing. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana — Gramin, each beneficiary is given MGNREGA, toilets from Swachh Bharat Mission, free gas stove and connection, electricity connection and water connection through convergence.

Sinha directed all the Deputy Commissioners that the benefit of convergence should be ensured to all the beneficiaries. Apart from Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Rural, the Union Secretary also reviewed MGNREGA, PMGSY, MGNREGA M Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Mission Scheme.

The Secretary said that under MGNREGA, less employment has been received in proportion to the population of Scheduled Tribes and Castes. He directed to pay special attention to this. DCs were instructed to ensure that all the beneficiaries get the benefit of social security and insurance schemes.

State Rural Development Secretary Dr Manish Ranjan said that bringing progress in the housing scheme is the priority of the government. It should be ensured that the first, second and third installment amount is allotted to all the beneficiaries by sanctioning the houses at the earliest so that the work of construction of the house can be completed. He directed to provide employment to all the labourers and migrant labourers, while expediting the works of MGNREGA.

MGNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari B directed to connect everyone with MGNREGA schemes. She asked to ensure that the work is done on time and their wages are paid on time, along with this, through the Area Officer App, all the Block Development Officers, Block Program Officers, Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineers have been given 50-50 ongoing schemes per month. Strict instructions were given to inspect and upload its report on the app.

In the review meeting, Jharkhand Rural Development Secretary Dr Manish Ranjan, MGNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari B, JSLPS CEO Nancy Sahay, Additional Secretary Ramkumar Sinha, DC, DDC, Director of DRDA and other senior officials were present in the review meeting.
