The number of polling booths for the 2022 UP assembly elections have increased by 9,879 to 1,74,351 booths. Each polling booth will have 1,200 voters.

Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh, Ajay Kumar Shukla, said here on Tuesday that the political parties had been informed that the Election Commission had announced the programme for the electoral roll revision with the cut-off date for eligibility to register as voter being January 1, 2022.
The CEO met the representatives of all the political parties here on Tuesday.
He said the electoral roll revision drive would be launched on November 7, 13, 21 and 28. He said draft electoral rolls would be published on January 1, 2022 and the final draft would be published on January 5.
He said the Election Commission had urged political parties to appoint the booth level polling agents so that they could cooperate with the booth level officer in the revision of the electoral rolls. He said the Election Commission had also sought the cooperation of all the political parties for the brief roll revision process, particularly the inclusion of the names of youth and women.
The CEO said the political parties were also apprised of the directions of the Supreme Court about advertisements of political nature carried by the TV channels.
