Urban Dev Dept attracts investors for Ranchi Smart City

The CEO of Ranchi Smart City Corporation Amit Kumar on Thursday said that Jharkhand and Bihar are bound by the same socio-economic relationship, so there is lot of expectations from the investors of Bihar in the development of Smart City Ranchi. Speaking at the Investors Meet organized by Ranchi Smart City Corporation at Hotel Chanakya, in Patna, Kumar said that Smart City Ranchi has immense potential for Bihar investors in the field of residential, institutional, commercial, hotel and hospitality sector. Kumar told the investors that this city, which is being developed in Ranchi, will become the power centre of Jharkhand, due to which the development of world-class infrastructure is in the final stages.

Meanwhile, Municipal Commissioner of Ranchi Mukesh Kumar, while addressing the investors' meet, said that he has a very close relationship with the people of Patna, so he would like to ensure the participation of the people of Patna in the development of Smart City Ranchi. He said that the single window system is already working for investment in Jharkhand. Jharkhand is also number one in the country in labour reforms.

In the programme, Rakesh Kumar Nandkeolyar, General Manager, Ranchi Smart City Corporation, through a powerpoint presentation, presented the outline of a smart city in front of potential investors working in various fields.

As per power point presentation, the government is determined to make Ranchi an education hub. If top universities across the world show interest in setting up a campus, the varsity will be provided 25 acres of land at a token rate of Rs 1. The master plan of Ranchi Smart City is based on Transit Oriented Development. Public transport will be available within a distance of 400 meters from any plot. GIS substation has been constructed for uninterrupted power supply. No electricity and telephone wires will be visible as overhead wires inside the smart city area. Green technology has been given special emphasis in the development of the city. World class plans have been made keeping in mind to encourage Ease of Living.

Under the Ranchi Smart City, 37 per cent of the Green Field Smart City, has been set up in 656 acres of land, which will be in form of open space where road, drainage, sewerage, park and plantation will be done. The rest of the land will be divided into different areas like educational, residential, commercial, hotel industry.  For 24 hours uninterrupted power supply, GIS substation has been constructed and 4 additional power substations are under construction.

For uninterrupted water supply, a dedicated pipeline of 12 MLD water supply, water reservoir and an additional filter bed have been constructed at the water filter centre located at Dhurwa Dam. Roads of the new city will be wide from minimum 9 meters to maximum 45 meters, road construction work is in the final stages. The master plan of Ranchi Smart City is based on Transit Oriented Development. Public transport will be available within a distance of 400 meters from any plot.
