Use Swachhata-MoHUA app for immediate redressal of sanitation issues in Dehradun

Saturday, 27 February 2021 | PNS | Dehradun

The locals must use Swachhata-MoHUA app for the immediate redressal of any sanitation issue within the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) territorial limits. This was informed by the chief municipal health officer Dr Kailash Joshi while adding that the corporation receives around 300 complaints through the app every day most of which are resolved within 48 hours. Recently, many locals complained to the corporation regarding the issues like garbage burning, waste accumulation in vacant plots and dumping of garbage in drains. According to the officials, though the corporation imposes penalty on all the said offences, the corporation cannot track down every offender each time. "We impose at least Rs 10,000 penalty on the owners who failed to restrict garbage accumulation in their vacant plots. We also impose penalties on those offenders who are caught burning the garbage in public places but the corporation cannot take action on the basis of random complaints without the relevant information" said Joshi. According to him, the locals also need to be vigilant to restrict such activities in the city. "If anyone observes that someone is burning garbage, they can click photos or make videos and upload them with their complaint in the Swachhata-MoHUA app with the details. Thorough details will help us to find the offenders soon," said Joshi. Further, the officials stated that every citizen can question such offenders and file complaint in MCD premises or through the app.
