Uttarakhand police starts Operation Smile

Uttarakhand police has started a month long Operation Smile to search for missing people across the state from Wednesday. In Dehradun, the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Janmejaya Khanduri has appointed circle officer Shekhar Chandra Suyal as the nodal officer of the operation and four teams will work under him.

Suyal also conducted a meeting with the officials of various departments like health, labour and child help line among others besides some non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to make them aware of the agenda of the operation. The officials informed that the police will search for children, women and men missing since the year 2000 under this operation.

They said that if anybody goes missing from September 15 to October 14, locals can contact the nodal officer at 9411112759 or anti-human trafficking cell at 7579245420 to provide required details.
