Vigilance stepped up at Tatanagar

Tatanagar railway station has stepped up vigil to prevent further spread of COVID 19. DC Suraj Kumar, who inspected the station premise directed the authorities to ensure that adequate prevention measures are put in place across the station. Several banners and posters have come up at the railway station to educate passengers.

Officials of Tatanagar railway station informed that the situation is being constantly monitored and coordinated at all levels. Desks have been set up all over the railway system and the staff has been sensitized and educated about the subject. The collaboration and coordination with the concerned health authorities are also being ensured.

Along with DC, Senior Superintendent of Police, M. Tamil Vanan, ADM Law and Order Nandkishore Lal inspected the railway station with the preparations for the arrival of migrant workers. During this time, the senior officials of the district administration inspected the platforms, bus stands etc. in the station premises and discussed about the safe house dispatch of all the workers along with protection from corona infection.

“Volunteers are being deputed along with the help desk so that the workers do not face any problem. In view of the convenience and safety of passengers, adequate amounts of face masks, hand sanitizers and other materials will also be made available in all buses. From here, workers of various blocks and other districts of East Singhbhum district will be dispatched by bus to their destination, where all the quarantines will be done for seven days as per the instructions of the State government. After seven days, they will be allowed to go home if they come back negative in the RAT test.

Information, Education, & Communication (IEC) material (posters and pamphlets) regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) are being prominently displayed for awareness of the general public in local language at railway stations and in trains and are also being distributed to patients visiting hospitals and in Railway colonies. Audio and video clips are being played at railway stations to spread awareness. Public announcements are being made at stations.

The medical staff has been advised that if any patient of Coronavirus disease is suspected or reported in any of the Railway Hospital/Health Unit in Zone/PU, the same may be informed to Railway Board and local health authorities immediately. Control rooms and Telephone helplines have been set up at all Railway hospitals.
