Villagers lynch 40-yr-old accused of raping minor girl

A 40-year-old rape accused Rinchu Soren was beaten to death by villagers at Boarijor locality in Godda.

The deceased is accused of having kept a 12-year-old girl in illegal custody in the forest for two days and raping her. However, the police quickly arrived, rescued and sent him to the nearby health center at Lamatia but he died due to injuries.

Meanwhile, Patras Soren, brother of the victim lodged an FIR against the father of the minor and others at Boarijor police station. A counter FIR has also been lodged by the father of the

minor.

The police arrested the victim's father. Kashyap Gautam, officer in-charge of Boarijor police station said that investigation has been started and a postmortem report of the victim is awaited. His postmortem was conducted at Godda Sadar

hospital.

According to reports the deceased had tied the minor with a tree and raped her while threatening to kill her with sharp edge weapon.

On Tuesday, the parents of the minor were away from the house and the minor was washing utensils. Deceased dragged her to a forest area and tied her to a tree.

Meanwhile, family members started searching for her. On Thursday they came to know that the deceased had kidnapped the minor.  He was caught by villagers and after initial denial he is said to have accepted having kidnapped the girl.  

After an hour-long search villagers traced and rescued the girl. She was found in the deep forest. After this, villagers started thrashing Rinchu

Soren.

SDPO Shiv Shankar Tiwari who is supervising the case has also questioned the family of the minor about the incident. The minor too has undergone medical tests and her condition is said to be stable. A lady officer has been deputed to record her statement.
