Vision Centre launched in Hoshangabad

L.C. Janiyani, Managing Trustee of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital inaugurated a Vision Centre in Hoshangabad on Wednesday. With the prevailing conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Vision Centre was launched virtually where members attended the inauguration through video calls.

Vision Centre was opened at shop number 12, Krishi Upaj Mandi, ITI Road, Hoshangabad. Timmings of Vision Centre will be  9 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm, Sunday closed. The inaugural event was attended by Dr. Poonam Parwani, Manoj Dhavadiya, Kushal Dharmani and Mission for Vision team members. This primary eye care centre is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.

Centre will cater the needs of surrounding population of over 1.5 Lakh people, ensuring early interception and treatment to prevent, preventable blindness probability.

Janyani  shared his views and expressed gratitude to MFV & Wen giving foundation for extending a helping hand to SSEH. He said that the objective of this centre is to curb preventive blindness from the society.

The lockdown and the present scenario has increased our screen time and this is impacting eye-sight for many. In addition to this,Covid-19 pandemic is also a big constraint in the treatment and delivery of eye health services. Due to these challenges, bringing cataract patients from villages is not as smooth as it used to be. The Vision Centre will be a perfect solution that will bridge the gap and help immensely in the eye care delivery.

Sabitra Kundu, Head of Programme Development, Mission for Vision shared his thoughts, “As our partnership with Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital continues to grow and strengthen, our aim is to serve all the eye health needs of the community through this collaboration. The launch of this Vision Centre plays a crucial role in addressing the unfulfilled eye health needs of these communities and adds to our commitment towards eradicating preventable blindness.”

Vision centres are sustainable, accessible, primary eye care clinics that offer comprehensive services by trained optometrists or vision technicians at affordable rates.
