A webinar, remembering noted artist Laxman Bhand was organised on Friday.
Senior litterateur Ram Prakash highlighted about his life and work. It was organized online by Sarjana Academy for Design and Fine Arts and Art Design Teachers Forum.
Painting is not just painting on canvas, but there is a long thought process behind dipping a brush in a color and bringing it to the canvas. Each colour has its own nature and psychology. Laxman Bhand was not only an excellent artist but he was a master of art, thinker, revolutionary thinker and innovator.
Noted journalist Abhilash Khandekar said that 'He was an unsung hero of the art world' (he was an unsung hero of the art world) but his art and understanding of art was world class. Born in Gwalior, Shri Laxman Mukund Bhand established Bhand Art School in Bhopal in 1964 which continued till 1978. Many students who came out of Bhand school are today famous painters and teachers. Some prominent names include Sushma Srivastava, Vinay Sapre, Manjusha Ganguly, Dinesh Dubey. Former Public Relations Officer Raghuraj Singh said that Bhand Saheb was a very disciplined officer and his artworks were approved at once.
Recalling Bhand, popularly known as 'Anna' among his disciples, artist Vinay Sapre said that his understanding of anatomy (anatomy) was amazing and his method of explaining was so simple that even the most difficult structure could be done at once. He was well versed in every discipline like Still Life, Nature Drawing, Portrait, Life Study, Realistic, Abstract.
Then he said that behind any creation there is an idea, so before making a picture, thinking is necessary, only then something different and original will become.
A video of Sakri Laxman Bhand, understanding in simple words of Cubism was also shown in the programme. Laxman Bhand, who started as a painter in the Department of Anatomy at Gwalior Medical College, passed away in 2016 at the age of 86. As per his wish, his body was donated for the medical students. Many relatives including Rajesh Joshi, Vijay Dutt Sridhar, Jagdish Kaushal, Sushil Trivedi, Shobha Ghare, Rajendra Kothari, Sanju Jain, Ranjit Arora, Smita Nagdev, Vinay Upadhyay participated in the remembrance evening.
