In another major instance of the State’s crumbling law and order situation, even after five days of the escape of gangster Haider, police has failed to nab him, said former State DGP and BJP leader Prakash Mishra here on Wednesday.
Top officials are involved in the gangster’s escape, but only six low-level police personnel have been suspended.
Why is the Chief Minister, who holds the Home portfolio, still silent over the matter, Mishra asked and posed 10 questions including why a dangerous criminal like Haider was frequently escorted to the SCB Hospital in Cuttack from Sambalpur.
Who suggested his treatment at Cuttack? While a general patient is unable to get a bed, who approved allotment of a cabin to such a criminal? How was the local police unaware of Haider’s escape even three hours after the incident?
Such an escape plan could not have been possible without the collusion of police, prison and health officials. Who was the influential power behind conspiracy, questioned Mishra.
