Police on Tuesday arrested a 28-year-old woman and her lover for allegedly killing the woman’s mother- in-law after she caught them in a compromising position, an official said.
According to the police official, Lilawati Soren and Lakhan Besara have confessed to killing her 60-year-old mother-in-law Badaki Tudu.
Lilawati wife of Anil Marandi and her paramour Lakhan Besara were nabbed from the Malukchal locality under Tisari police station, SDPO Mukesh Kumar Mahto said.Last week, the elderly woman had caught her daughter-in-law and Lakhan Besara together and threatened to tell her son about the affair, the official said. The two hatched a plan to kill Badaki Tudu and allegedly bludgeoned her to death with an iron rod in her home, the police official said.
The family members told the police about Lakhan’s frequent visits to the house. He confessed to the police during his interrogation.
