The Chhattisgarh State Women Commission said on Thursday it has disposed of 410 of 1,401 cases in 62 public hearings in 26 districts between August 2020 and July 2021.
A total of 30 public hearings were held in Raipur district alone in which 120 of 623 cases were dealt with, Chairperson Dr Kiranmayi Nayak told reporters.
A total of 47 of 104 cases in Durg and 40 of 106 cases in Bilaspur were also taken care of, she added. Also, 28 cases in Jagdalpur (Bastar), 20 in Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara, 17 in Korba, 15 in Raigarh, 14 in Kanker, 12 in Jashpur, 11 each in Janjgir-Champa and Gariaband, 10 in Korea, 9 in Mungeli, 8 each in Balod and Kabirdham, 7 each in Mahasamund and Rajnandgan, 6 each in Dhamtari and Surguja, 5 in Surajpur, 3 in Kondagaon, 2 each in Dantewada and Sukma, and 1 each in Narayanpur and Balrampur were disposed of. Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi had zero complaints while hearing could not be held in Bijapur and Bemetara districts as it had only 1 and 6 complaints.
