Worker dies at Bokaro Steel Plant after falling in liquid steel

A worker died in an accident at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) on Thursday. According to the eyewitnesses, Kishore Tudu (28), a contract worker of M/s Parva Construction working at the SMS-2 & CCS department of BSL, met with an accident while he was on duty.

Tudu died after falling in laden no. 9, which was filled with liquid steel. He died while working in LF-2 platform in the SMS-2 & CCS department, informed MK Dhan Chief of Communication BSL.

Tudu was on general shift duty; the accident took place at around 3.40 pm, he said.

As per the company rules, an assurance letter of appointment has been issued by BSL management to the next kin of the deceased, said Dhan.

The management has also set up an inquiry committee to inquire into the incident leading to the death of Tudu, he said.
