As the nation remembered former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his third death anniversary on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tributes to him by garlanding the statue of Vajpayee, the former MP from Lucknow, in the Lok Bhawan premises.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with Cabinet ministers Brajesh Pathak, Ashutosh Tandon, Bharatiya Janata Party state president Swatantra Dev Singh, Minister of State Baldev Singh Aulakh and Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari also garlanded the statue of the former prime minister.
The leaders also observed a two- minute silence as a mark of respect towards Vajpayee.
Yogi Adityanath said, “I pay my humble tribute to former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the ardent nationalist, popular mass leader, who restored democratic values through his conduct in Indian politics, on his death anniversary.”
"His life is a great inspiration for all of us. We all should imbibe his ideal and follow the path shown by him," the chief minister said.
Along with Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also remembered former cabinet minister Chetan Chauhan who died of COVID-19 last year.
Yogi Adityanath said the contribution of the former Indian cricketer in the world of sports was unforgettable.
