A 20-year-old youth was attacked with a sharp edged weapon and assaulted by three youths of Awadhpuri after victim refused to extort money at Rajeev Nagar in the night on Wednesday.
According to the police, Sobit Sahu was attacked near his house by Deepak, Aditya and Darshan while he was having a walk at around 10 in the night.
The victim was asked to shed money for liquor which he refused after which he was attacked by the two accused and beaten brutally. The victim was attacked in his hand with a sharp edged weapon and he raised alert for help but before locals could come to his rescue miscreants managed to flee.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was provided treatment. Police said that the search for the attackers has been started.
After the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case of assault against the three miscreants who have criminal record.
In their complaint victim stated that he was near his house when the two miscreants approached him and started to extort money for liquor which he refused and which made them angry and they started to beat him.
Police said that search has been intensified for the accused.
Till the filing of the report none of the attackers were nabbed. The houses of two accused have been raided but accused managed to remain absconding.
