Cheating a Hindu spinster by posing as a Hindu, entering into a relationship and sexually exploiting her landed a 24-year-old Muslim youth in jail in Ballia on Tuesday. As per reports, the 22-year-old spinster complained to the police that the accused from Kotwali City area of Ballia threatened to kill her when she started avoiding him after learning that he had faked his identity.
The woman alleged that the accused induced her into a physical relationship, which continued for over a year, by promising to marry her.
A case was registered against the accused under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and he was arrested on Tuesday.
Meanwhile in Kasganj, the mutilated body of a 12-year-old boy, with the torso burnt and face dismembered, was recovered from a maize field in the wee hours of Monday. The boy had gone missing since Friday and after the recovery of his body, his family members alleged that he was killed by distant relatives. Subsequently, an FIR was registered against three relatives and two unknown persons on charges of kidnapping and murder and one of the accused was arrested.
According to an eye-witness, the child’s body had injury marks all over, his torso was burnt with acid and his face bludgeoned with bricks to conceal identification. Police are waiting for the post-mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death..
Superintendent of Police of Kasganj, Manoj Kumar Sonkar, said, "Initial investigations revealed that the child’s ‘mama’ (maternal uncle) had earlier murdered his wife. The deceased woman’s relatives targeted the child to extract revenge. One of the accused has been arrested and he is being interrogated to get more details. A special team has been set up to arrest the other accused."
