Youth of coal city show interest in fighting corona in coal capital by taking the first dose of vaccine as vaccination for 18+ starts here at 34 different sites across the district.
Interestingly, all slots at all 34 locations where vaccinations are to be held for today and tomorrow have been booked in advance .
The district administration has a target to vaccinate 4,930 persons of aforementioned ages on the first day and equal numbers on the second day on May 15.
At one of the vaccination centres located at the Labour office 151 persons had taken vaccines by 12.30 pm on day one informed one of the team members of the vaccination team. This is one of the eight vaccination centres in Dhanbad block.
College student Shyam Pandey who took his first dose at the aforementioned centre said ,"I was eagerly waiting for the vaccination and as the registrations opened I grabbed the opportunity of getting vaccinated."
Jharia block has seven vaccination centres followed by other rural locations .
District Congress president Brajendra Prasad Singh who was present at this centre along with his party members said, the drive is open for 18to44 years of age and all eligible for taking vaccine must break the it to break chain of corona in Jharkhand. Singh said, Congress party has also set up a committee to monitor the vaccination drive.
