What is State of Seige:Temple Attack about?
Those who have yet to see it, the series is based on attack at the Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar, Gujarat in 2002 in which over 30 people lost their lives and more than 80 were injured. It was the National Security Guard that hunted the terrorists and brought everything under control.
Why did you agree to play a terrorist?
For an actor every role is just a role because every character is equally important in the story. It is important that you perform the role that has come your way with honesty and hard work. I feel every actor thinks the same way.
What’s your role in Dasvi?
I'm playing younger brother of Abhishek Bachchan and it’s a very prominent character in the film. I'm waiting to complete the last schedule of the film.
How was it work with likes of Abhishek Bachchan, Nimrat Kaur and Yami Gautam?
Of course working with Abhishek, Nimrat and Yami was really amazing. My most of the scenes are with Abhishek and Nimrat. They are really beautiful human and Abhishek is such a gentleman. Nimrat is amazing as well. They give you a very comfortable space without making you feel as a new comer. Both of them are finest and effortless actors. Apart from acting too, I got to learn a lot from them.
You are a singer as well. How did that happen?
I have been singing since my school days and used to take part in college plays. From there acting and singing both became my part. Later, I became an RJ. But I wanted to fulfill my dream so I started with acting and singing.
Did singing come first or acting?
Acting is my first love. I can say I’m an actor who can sing. Music helps me in my acting.
Where are you most comfortable— in front of camera or in the studio?
These are two very different scenarios. But if I have to choose then I’ll choose camera.
How was the experience of working in musical like Mughal-e-Azam?
It is one of the best thing that happened to me. It gave me that confidence to leave my job as an RJ and focus on acting. Director Feroz Abbas Khan is an institution in himself. I got to learn so much from him.
What else is lined up?
I have couple of projects lined. Few the projects will be releasing in Punjab. I have four songs lined up. So I’m working on both simultaneously.
