The good thing about this plant is that it can stay indoors and outside in a pot. Make sure to water it only when the soil drys out. If the plant is inside and not near sunlight, one needs to put it out once every three-four weeks. Trim any stem that is drying. The areca palm is a heavy feeder and requires fertilising but do not fertilise during winters.
