He, who walks the path of righteousness, earns the infinite blessing of God’s love and support, says Rajyogi Brahmakumar Nikunj Ji
Off late there has been a lot of buzz around the word “right-hand man†in the media. One gets to read a lot of headlines or breaking news wherein the right-hand man is exclusively profiled. So what is it all about that makes these people so important? To start with, ‘right-hand man’ is the term used to describe someone who is a close and dependable person, someone who is called khaas in Hindi. He or she is not like an assistant, but more like a second in command. In ancient times, a person with high or highest rank stood to the King’s right side, who was called vazir or maha mantri. Even today, a person may be called someone’s ‘right-hand man’ or ‘wingman’ when he or she serves as the closest person to another leader. However, one wonders as to why only the ‘right hand’ person is important?
First of all, we need to understand that hands are the instruments that put our thoughts into action. Hence, without them, we cannot give practical shape to what we think or say. However, no matter how noble or brilliant our thoughts and words are, they become effective only if we translate them into action. In today’s world, without practicality, even great ideas fail to make an impact. That is why people say, “we have heard a lot, we want to see it for real now.â€
The right hand is valued because it is used to perform all auspicious and good deeds. Be it making offerings at temples or to the sacrificial fire during prayers or just for eating food; it is the right hand that is mostly used. Also, this very hand is raised benevolently by seers, saints and priests as a sign of blessing someone.
The hand is a symbol of cooperation, which is of many kinds. A person who cooperates only now and then, or only when he feels like it, is not called a right-hand person. Remember, one who cooperates only because he is required to do so, will not help others heartily because the feelings that accompany the cooperation matter a lot. On the other hand, a person who cooperates out of love or concern for others will do his utmost, even going out of the way to ensure that the task is accomplished. Such a person would lend cooperation from the core of his/her heart, thereby, helping create the right attitude and atmosphere with positive thoughts.
Similarly, the hand is also a symbol of love. That is why when two people meet, they shake hands — the right one. Lastly, the right hand symbolises strength. By his/her powerful thoughts, such people strengthen others mentally, supporting them with their determination and faith. So he, who walks the path of righteousness, and helps God in transforming this vicious world into a viceless one, earns the honour of becoming his right hand. He earns the infinite blessing of God’s love and support.
