Mugdha Sinha, Government Secretary, Department of Arts and Culture, said that Rajasthan has a unique identity on the tourism map due to its rich art and culture heritage.
Sinha was speaking at the Jawahar Kala Kendra on the occasion of Rajasthan Day in a seminar organised by the Department of Tourism, Arts and Culture and Lalit Kala Akademi on the theme of ‘Role of Tourism in Promoting Tourism’. He threw light on the interrelations of tourism and art by making them aware of the importance of Rajasthan Day.
Director of Tourism Department, Nisht Jain, said that this seminar has been organised among limited visitors, taking full precautions during the Corona period.
In the seminar, Dr Vidya Sagar Upadhyay, Dr Kumar Ashutosh and Priyadarshan Lakhawat, associated with tourism training, expressed their views on the importance of local arts and culture along with tourist places in encouraging tourism and increasing the movement of tourists.
Two different exhibitions were organised. The exhibition, Sono-Rajasthan, which depicts the art of the state, was displayed.
Dr Punita Singh, Joint Director, Tourism Department, proposed the vote of thanks. On this occasion, Additional Director of Tourism Department, Manisha Arora and officials of various departments were present.
It is noteworthy that the foundation day of Rajasthan is celebrated every year on March 30 as Rajasthan Day.
