I JUMPED ON THE IDEA: TRIPATHI

Pankaj Tripathi is on a roll as the actor recently wrapped up Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG and has now started shooting for Srijit Mukherjee’s film Sherdil, where he plays the lead.

Sharing his experience of working with Mukherjee, Tripathi says, “He is a fabulous director and needs no introduction. When Sherdil was offered to me, I jumped on the idea. The story has a definite character in itself. It is a beautifully written script and I trust him to bring each character to life convincingly. That’s his USP.”

‘Falling in love is something very subjective and we can’t judge a person for their choices because, at the end of the day, it’s your heart. You can’t direct your heart to do things that a particular person would feel is morally right or wrong. What might be right to you might be wrong for the other person. Considering all the flaws that we all are living with, we should not sit and judge others.’

‘Mentally, I got stuck because we had to shut down our shoot halfway through because of the lockdown and we were about 80 per cent done with Bob Biswas. And, we had another 10-15 days of work left. I became between 100-105 kilos during the shoot.Throughout the lockdown, I had to maintain that weight that I had to put on for my character. That was tough.’

Zachary Levi reveals he auditioned for the role of Star-Lord and ended up helping to get cast as Shazam. Levi took up the role of the superhero in the DC universe, and is one of the most fun movies of the DCEU.

“James [Gunn] and I were friends, we would have game nights at each other’s homes, and had a lot of mutual friends. He had asked me to come in and read for Star-Lord, and I did. It led to the next step, and then all of a sudden, I was camera testing. I wanted that role so bad, like so, so, so bad,” he shared.
