In an attempt to give an impetus to development, the UP Government has identified 10 sectors where the progress will be monitored regularly while the scope of aspirational districts will be further expanded. Information regarding this was given by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath here on Tuesday.

The chief minister said that 10 presentations were made sector-wise before the cabinet in relation to the action plan of the government.

“Continuous monitoring of progress and implementation of the action plan should be done by appointing 10 senior officers as nodal officers for all these 10 sectors,” the CM said.

He said the construction of Bundelkhand Expressway is in the final stage. It should be completed by the end of June while the construction of Ballia Link Expressway be expedited further, he added.

The CM said that among the aspirational districts, all the districts of Uttar Pradesh have done commendable work on various parameters of development. NITI Aayog has appreciated the efforts of various districts.

He asked the officers to expedite the development works of 100 aspirational development blocks.

The chief minister said that in view of the huge importance of road safety, an action plan for awareness campaign is prepared with the mutual coordination of the departments concerned like Police, Traffic, Basic Education, Secondary Education, Higher Education, Technical Education, Transport, Urban Development, PWD.

On May 18, with this action plan, a dialogue will be held with the public representatives and officials of all the urban bodies of the state, after which the road safety campaign will start.

Special efforts need to be made to make children comply with traffic rules in council and secondary schools. Children should be given from the very beginning the virtues of compliance with traffic rules, he said.

“Awareness-related ‘prabhat pheris’ should be taken out by schoolchildren. Meetings should be held in schools with parents for awareness. People should be made aware about the traffic rules,” the CM said.
