The CPI-M on Friday condemned the act of vandalism by SFI activists at the Wayanad office of Rahul Gandhi MP. E P Jayarajan, convenor of Left Democratic Front and Kerala’s CPI-M strongman told reporters that there was no justification for the attack on the Wayanad office of Gandhi, who represents the constituency in Lok Sabha.
“The CPI-M or the LDF do not know the reasons behind this attack. A thorough probe would be held about the factors that led to the attack and action would be taken against those who took law into their hands” said Jayarajan.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan too expressed his displeasure over the incident and said law would take its own course. The move by the CPI-M in condemning the attack of Gandhi’s office is seen as an attempt by the Marxists to minimize the anger among the Congress cadre across the country in the backdrop of the emerging alliance between the two parties in the national level. The Congress and the CPI-M are on the same side of the opposition in their support for Yashwant Sinha , the opposition candidate for the Presidential election.
