In a pre-Budget exercise, Unon finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday held a stakeholders' consultation with BJP’s party representatives from 25 States.
BJP National Spokesperson and economic cell in-charge Gopal Krishna Agarwal said BJP representations were from "industries, professionals, business communities, academicians, economists including people from Tribal and backward classes and women community."
The discussions centered round giving incentives to marginalized sections as also giving right fillip to business activities in the country in the aftermath of Covid19.
"About 20 written submissions have been received, which will be compiled and submitted to the finance-Minister", said the BJP leader.
Representatives from 25 States participated in this discussion, including from North-eastern states like Mizoram, Tripura and from Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Ladakh and southern states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Telangana.
States like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Orissa were amongst many more states from central and North India "making effective pitch for the development of their regions", said Agarwal.
Some prominent think tanks and Morchas president also presented their views and suggestions.
Senior central party leaders conducted the proceedings from party head-quarter here at Deen Dayal Marg.
State party President from respective state party offices, were also present in the hybrid mode.
Finànce Minister Sitharaman, in her concluding remarks thanked all the BJP participants for their important inputs.
Sitharaman is to present the Union Budget 2022-23 on February 1. The budget session of Parliament will commence on January 31 with the address of President Ram Nath Kovind to both the Houses.
