Stating that Uttar Pradesh in the last five years had succeeded in providing a safe and secure environment to the investors, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state had become the favourite destination of the investors and was emerging as the leading economy of the country.
While launching development projects of Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) worth Rs 143.69 crore and handing over land allotment letters to the investors in Gorakhpur on Sunday, the chief minister said, “Uttar Pradesh is moving rapidly towards achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s target of making India a $ 5 trillion economy by 2024.”
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set an ambitious target of making India a $ 5 trillion economy. Uttar Pradesh, with the largest population, will play an important role in this. This could be made possible only when the state’s economy becomes a $ 1 trillion dollar one,” Yogi Adityanath said.
The chief minister said that during the first term of his government, investment proposals worth more than Rs 3 lakh crore were put on the ground. He said on June 3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would lay the foundation stones for investment projects worth more than Rs 75,000 crore in the state's third groundbreaking ceremony.
The chief minister said that along with big industrial projects, the government was working to bring prosperity in the lives of lakhs of people by including traditional and local products in One District One Product scheme and running Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana for traditional craftsmen. Yogi said that Gorakhpur, which was once infamous due to criminals and backwardness, was scripting a new story of development.
“A lot of offers from industries are being received here. Such proposals and development work will generate numerous employment opportunities for the youth. The GIDA was established 40 years ago, however, the development started only when the Bharatiya Janata Party formed the government in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.
It is noteworthy that an investment of over Rs 1,000 crore is proposed by the new investors, through which about 2,700 new job opportunities will be created.
