Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has taken a potshot at the Union Government over the Supreme Court’s scathing criticism of ex-BJP spokesperson Numpr Sharma’s controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammad and said the Government has created the atmosphere of anger and hate in the country and not one person alone.
Rahul told the media in Wayanad, his parliamentary constituency, “The Supreme Court has said this. But the atmosphere in the country is created by the ruling Government. It is not the person who made this statement. It is the Prime Minister, te Home Minister, the BJP and the RSS who have created this environment in the country. This environment of anger and this environment of hatred. This is against the interest of India and our people.”
“The Congress party builds bridges between people, we build bridges between communities, we bring people together. So what we are seeing in the country is what is being done by the RSS and the BJP. This is completely against our philosophy. We don’t believe in solving problems with hatred and anger,” he added.
