Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia on the first day of the Monsoon Session of Delhi Assembly, lashed out at the Central Government and held it responsible for obstruction in the working of the elected Government and its departments, including higher education. Sisodia alleged that the Centre had been forsaking public interest to toy around with the senior officers of the Higher Education Department.
Sisodia reaction came after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj had initiated a discussion on the situation arising out of the unconstitutional working of the Services Department which is refusing to even reply to the Assembly and its committees.
During the discussion, Sisodia said that the Central Government is playing with the future of six lakh children of Delhi by repeatedly transferring senior officers after unconstitutionally stanching away the Services Department from the Kejriwal Government.
“Admissions are going on in Delhi Government's universities at present but no one has been appointed to the post of Director of Higher Education 22 days after the transfer of the previous Director,” said Sisodia. “After snatching away the Kejriwal Government's powers, the Centre is abusing those powers by transferring officers without cause or justification,” said Sisodia.
