‘Important Centre for animals-birds’ vaccine production in Ranchi soon’

Chief Minister Hemant Soren today inspected the GMP/GLP level Vaccine Drug Production Laboratory, Kanke under the Animal Health and Production Institute. He inspected the production unit of the laboratory and the building being constructed under the quality control unit and gave several instructions to the concerned officials. The CM said that this is a very important scheme of the Animal Husbandry Department in the State. Vaccines for animals and birds will be manufactured here. The government is trying to start it soon. In this regard, the entire plan will be reviewed very soon after a meeting of senior officials, so that the work of vaccine production can start from here.

The CM said that the Drug Production Laboratory was planned in 2014. There has been a delay in its launch. In such a situation, according to today, the need to change it is felt. A detailed action plan will be prepared for this, so that now it can be started within the stipulated time. Any hindrance in this will be removed immediately.

The CM directed for some changes in the building of the Vaccine Production Laboratory. He said that provision of lifts and ramps should also be made here, so that the work of transportation of goods can be done smoothly. He said that there is a need to make it more and more useful. It is known that it is being constructed at a cost of about 28 crore 69 lakh 90 thousand rupees.

The officials of the Animal Health and Production Institute told the Chief Minister that the construction of the laboratory building was almost complete. Now, preparations are being made to install the equipment. They said that about one crore vaccines will be produced every year in this laboratory. Here 6 types of vaccines will be made for animals and birds. This includes Galghotu (HS), BQ, Anthrax, Swine Fever and Poultry Vaccine (Ranikhet).

The Chief Minister also visited the Biodiversity Park of Birsa Agricultural University. The Chief Minister stressed on starting organic farming here and said that there should also be a system for supply of crops and vegetables produced from here in the country and abroad. Along with this, a plan should also be made to open a retail outlet here, so that the local people can take advantage of it.

Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, Secretary, Building Construction Department Sunil Kumar, Secretary Agriculture Department Abu Bakr Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor of Birsa Agricultural University Onkar Singh, and Director of Animal Health Production Institute, Dr. Vipin Mahatha and many other officials were present on the occasion.
