Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday reviewed the process and scientific methods to recover barren land and introduce scientific methods to make the land cultivable.
Pradhan particularly concerned over the increasing barren land in mining areas of Talcher’s Balanda area in Angul district consulted experts of Ministry of Agriculture and International Crop Research Institute to develop the land for agriculture purpose. Notably, a large patch of land after mining has been left barren in the area.
He also stressed on imparting training to various farmer organizations and producer groups. Pradhan sought experts’ advice to start an experimental pilot project in Talcher Blanda area.
