Thursday, 26 May 2022 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

‘Paperman India’ Shashanka Sekhar Dash successfully earned a place in Guinness Book of World Records. Monday Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal handed over the GWR certificate to him in a programme at the Raj Bhavan. With this achievement he left behind Italy's Sergio Bodini's 1,444 newspapers collection record. Till date Shanshanka has collected more than 10,000 newspapers of 5,100 different titles from 153 countries and 94 languages.

Earlier, Shashanka's name was featured three times with the Limca Book of Records, once each with the India Book of Records and Credence Book of World Records. He has also placed his name in OMG Book of Records. He has started a newspaper museum in his village Arangabad of Bari block of Jajpur district in his father's name to preserve the newspapers. His Dolagobinda newspaper museum and research centre is a hub of newspapers as well as history and heritage.

Recently,  Shashanka had requested Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to establish a newspaper museum in the State and he was ready to donate all his collections to it, which will be the first its kind in India.
