Two persons were killed and over 20 others injured in two separate road accidents in the State on Sunday.
In Nuapada district, a truck reportedly hit a tractor from the rear near Kurumpuri under the Lakhanpur police station killing two persons on the spot. Police were yet to ascertain the identity of the deceased. Meanwhile, two others injured in the accident were admitted to a nearby hospital.
In another road mishap, around 18 passengers sustained injuries after the bus they were travelling in was hit by a speeding truck near Meherpada at Barpali in Bargarh district. The bus was reportedly en route to Jharsuguda.
All the injured were admitted to Barpali hospital and their condition was stable.
