The 3rd National Lok Adalat was organised by the District Legal Services Authority [DLSA] in the district court complex
here.
District Judge cum DLSA chairman Anup Kumar Chandan inaugurated the event accompanied by senior judicial officers from several courts, besides lawyers, social activists and litigants.
As many as 4,443 pending cases in different courts were listed for hearing in the Lok Adalat out of which 3,232 cases related to criminal, cheque bounce, bank loan, motor accident, matrimonial, insurance, family dispute, revenue and civil matters were disposed of. An amount Rs 1,85,47,363 was collected from parties as compensation and loan dues.
Moreover, 4,268 bank loan matters were placed before the Adalat of which 114 cases were settled while Rs 19, 55,300 was collected from the borrowers.
