The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested three criminals, including two shooters, in connection with the killing of popular Punjabi singer 28-year-old Sidhu Moose Wala. Police said that they have also recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition, including a grenade launcher, from the possession of the accused.

The accused have been identified as Priyavrat alias Fauji (26), a resident of Sonipat in Haryana, Kashish (24), also from the State's Jhajjar district, and Keshav Kumar (29), a resident of Bhatinda in Punjab. Police said that the trio was nabbed after specific inputs were received on June 19 that some shooters, involved in Moose Wala’s murder, were hiding in Mundra, Kutch area of Gujarat.

“Acting on the inputs, the team was deployed, and all the three accused were arrested are around 6 A.M. in a swift and a brisk operation,” said HGS Dhaliwal, the Special Commissioner of Police, Special Cell.

The local court on Monday also sent them to police custody for custodial interrogation for two weeks. According to the Special CP, the shooter Priyavrat led a team of shooters and was in direct touch with the Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar at the time of the incident. “He is the main shooter and executioner of the murder,” Dhaliwal said. Brar has claimed responsibility for the killing of the popular singer.

On Priyavrat’s instance, police have also recovered eight high explosive grenades along with “Under Barrel Grenade Launcher” which can be mounted on AK-47 assault rifles, from a house in village Kirmara near Hisar, Haryana.

“Beside this, the police team has also found nine electric detonators, one assault rifle along with 20 rounds, three sophisticated star pistols of .30 bore, 36 rounds of 7.62 MM of star pistols and part of AK-series assault rifle from the house,” said the Special CP.

Priyavrat could be seen in a CCTV footage of a petrol pump prior to the incident.

He was previously involved in two murder cases and was arrested in 2015 in one of the cases in Sonipat and also wanted in another murder case in Sonipat in 2021, police said.

Kashish, one of the shooters, was also seen in the CCTV footage. He is wanted in a 2021 murder case in Haryana's Jhajjar, they said. Kumar was the facilitator and received the shooters just after the shootout in an Alto car. He accompanied the shooters till Mansa on the day of the incident, police said, adding that he was previously arrested in a murder case in Bathinda in 2020 and was suspected to be involved in other cases of extortion in Punjab.

Sidhu Moose Wala, was shot dead in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29.
