Three senior clerks of Lephpripara block of undargarh district were suspended on Thursday for taking alcohol during office hours. Also, a Panchayat Executive Officer of Tangarpalli block of the district was suspended on administrative ground.
The suspended clerks are Janu Barik, Sanjib Kumar Kispatta and Sanjay Kumar Naik. They were working as senior revenue assistants in Lephripara block office. They were consuming alcohol during the office hours due to which the office work in block office was getting affected. Earlier, allegations had also been levelled against the officials before Sundargarh Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan.
Kalyan on Thursday suspended them with immediate effect, pending finalisation of a departmental inquiry on gross misconduct by taking alcohol during office hour.
It has been further ordered that during the period of suspension , the headquarter of the trio shall be at Sadar Sundargarh under the administrative control of the Sub Collector, Sadar.
The Collector also suspended Lokeswar Choudhury, Panchayat Executive Officer, Meghdega Gram Panchayat of Tangarpali block of Sundargarh on Thursday, on administrative ground with immediate effect. It was further ordered that the headquarters of Lokeswar Choudhury , PEO, shall be the office of the BDO, Tangarpalli.
Significantly, in the administrative reshuffle on Thursday, Sundargarh Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan was appointed as Chief of Cuttack Municipal Corporation while Collector, Kalahandi district,Gavali Parag Harshad has been transferred to Sundargarh as Sundargarh Collector. Before leaving Sundargarh, Kalyan suspended these officials.
