Wednesday, 28 September 2022 | PNS | Lucknow

In a sensational incident in Siddharthanagar, a 4-year-old boy was killed by a woman in retaliation to the taunts made on her by the victim’s mother.

Police made the above claim following the arrest of the accused on Tuesday. The police said that the woman confessed to have killed the boy.

Reports said that Sunny, who was the son of Rajesh Chaurasia of Jahan hamlet of Belhari under Mohana police station area of the district, went to Jyoti’s house along with his cousin Aryan on Sunday afternoon. Aryan returned home but Sunny did not come back.

When Sunny did not return home till late evening, his family members started looking for him. When Sunny was not found for a long time, his family members informed police on Monday evening.

The police registered a missing case and started searching for the boy. The police later recovered Sunny’s body from a box in Jyoti’s house. The cops had reached there after Aryan told them that he and Sunny were playing at her (Jyoti’s) house on the fateful day. The police grilled Jyoti who confessed to have killed the boy. The cops took both Jyoti and her father Ram Milan Yadav into custody and sent the body for autopsy.

Rajesh Chaurasia said he had no enmity with anyone, yet his son was murdered. He also said that Sunny was the eldest of the two brothers. Jyoti, however, claimed that Sunny’s mother used to taunt and abuse her, so she strangled him to death to exact revenge.

The police said that Jyoti sold the locket and ‘karadhan’ which Sunny was wearing to a bullion trader for just Rs 1,700 and the same were recovered by them.

Elsewhere in Farrukhabad, a middle-aged villager killed his wife Kiran by slitting her throat on Monday night. Reports said that Sunil Katheria of Khanpur village of Farrukhabad Kotwali was living with his 38-year-old wife (Kiran). Some time on Monday night, Sunil had a dispute with his wife and he slit her throat with a sharp-edged weapon. She died on the spot. The police took Sunil into custody and sent him to jail on Tuesday afternoon. Kiran was Sunil’s second wife.

Meanwhile in Amroha, one person was killed and six others were injured when a state roadways bus in which they were travelling rammed into a truck on Tuesday morning, police said. The incident occurred in Rajabpur on National Highway-9 when the Delhi-bound bus rammed into the stationary truck from behind, the police said.
